By downloading, installing, or using the Pentai mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and Pentai ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms apply to all users of the App, including parents, guardians, and children who access the App through child accounts.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect and use your personal information. By using the App, you also consent to our Privacy Policy.
Pentai is a family organisation and management mobile application designed to help families coordinate activities, track homework, manage calendars, and organise household tasks for multiple children.

To create a parent/guardian account, you must be at least 18 years of age. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
Children under 18 may use the App only through child accounts created and managed by a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for all activity within child accounts associated with their household.
The App is not intended for independent use by children under 13. Parents must supervise all use by younger children.
To use the App, you must create a parent/guardian account using a valid email address and password, or sign in via Google or Apple. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during registration.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@pentai.app if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
Each account is associated with one household. You may invite a partner or co-parent to join your household using the household join code. All members of a household share access to the household's data. You are responsible for any actions taken by household members you invite.
You agree not to create accounts on behalf of others without their permission, or to use another person's account without authorisation.
Pentai offers a free tier with core features available at no cost. The free tier may include advertisements provided by third-party ad networks.
Premium features may be available through a paid subscription. Subscription fees, billing cycles, and included features will be clearly displayed before purchase. All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled in accordance with the Apple App Store or Google Play Store refund policies. We do not offer refunds directly.
We may change subscription prices with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the App after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
You retain ownership of all content you create within the App, including calendar events, homework entries, activity schedules, and notes ("User Content").
By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the App's services to you. We do not use your User Content for advertising or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of your User Content. Do not upload content that infringes the rights of others or violates applicable law.
When you use AI-powered features (such as document extraction), your submitted content may be processed by third-party AI services (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic). Refer to our Privacy Policy for details.
Parents and guardians are fully responsible for child accounts created within their household, including all activity, content, and use of features by children.
By creating a child profile, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and consent to the collection and use of their information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Child accounts access the App through a 4-digit PIN set by the parent. You are responsible for keeping this PIN secure and for supervising your child's use of the App.
The location sharing feature for children requires explicit parental consent and can be disabled at any time from your parent account settings.
The App integrates with third-party services including Google (Firebase, Calendar, AdMob, Gemini), Microsoft (Outlook), Apple (Calendar, App Store), OpenAI, Anthropic, EduKey (ClassCharts), and others.
Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
School system integrations (such as ClassCharts) require you to provide valid credentials for those systems. You must ensure you have the right to use such credentials and that doing so complies with your school's acceptable use policy.
The App, including its design, code, logos, graphics, and all non-user content, is owned by Pentai and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on your personal devices solely for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicence any part of the App.
The Pentai name and logo are trademarks of Pentai. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
AI-generated content and suggestions from the App are provided for convenience only. Always verify important information independently. Pentai is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pentai and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £10 (whichever is greater).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pentai and its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or if required by law.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) shall continue to apply.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are located in another jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under local consumer protection laws. These Terms do not limit any rights you have under the laws of your country of residence that cannot be excluded by contract.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the App or by email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.
